Hot Start to the Fall Open

Two Anglers braved the heat and humidity on Friday.  Steve hit MI-60 before work and despite loosing a big one (likely story) landed a  0 lb 4 oz bluegill.  At lunch Bridgett and Steve hit MI-14 and were rewarded with a total of three fish.  Steve landed the Fall Open segment leading  4 lb 3 oz smallmouth and a 1 lb 8 oz largemouth while Bridgett landed a 3 lb 5 oz smallmouth and a 0 lb 3 oz largemouth.  After work, Bridgett also landed two more 3 oz largemouth bass.  While the 4 lb 3 oz seems impressive, remember that it's the first day of the segment and Tim has not yet fished.  The impressive start could bode well for an run at the seemingly unbreakable 5 lb barrier, but historically the fishing tails off as the water heats up in July and August.

There is also a rumor that perhaps Rick will be joining the Fall Open and try to keep up with the big boys (and Bridgett)

And remember to report your fish size and location to Bridgett as she tracks the results on the fish map.
