After an intensive search of the official Tournament Photo Database, Scale Correlation and in impromptu arm wrestling contest, the Competition Committee has declared the the 2011 Spring Open is officially a tie at this point in the season.
Here's the results of the inquiry:
- Tim's scale reading on the fish on April 12th was shown as 3 lb 9oz, but reported as 3 lb 10 oz. It should be noted that slight variations between the scale and report are allowed based section A.3.1.55.subpart 3 of the official rules. (Click here for a full description)
- On May 2nd, the Tournament Office conducted a full audit of the scales of both anglers and it was determined that the scales are reasonable adequate for the intended purpose.
So, as of now, the tournament is tied. The Leaderboard has been updated to reflect this exciting announcement. Wouldn't it be cool if it was the exact same fish!
